Terms of Service — Free Websites
Last updated: March 2026
Free Websites is a trading name providing professional website builds and hosting services for local businesses. Free Websites is operated by the same sole trader business as Leadible.
By registering, submitting a brief, or approving a website build you agree to these Terms of Service in full. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the Free Websites service. If you do not agree you must not use the service.
1. The Service
1.1 We provide a free website build service for local service businesses. Your website is built at no upfront cost. You pay a monthly hosting and support fee only from the day you approve your finished site.
1.2 Monthly hosting and support fees are as follows:
1.3 Additional pages beyond your plan allowance are charged at £5 per page per month.
1.4 All plans include hosting, ongoing technical support, security updates, and minor content updates. Support is always included — there is no hosting-only tier.
1.5 Monthly fees are collected by direct debit via GoCardless. Direct debit is set up at the point you approve your finished site.
1.6 No payment is taken before you approve your site. Your monthly fee starts on the approval date, not the registration date.
1.7 We reserve the right to modify the tools, platforms, and technology stack used to deliver the service at any time without prior notice. Any such changes will not reduce the standard of service provided to you.
2. Acceptance of Terms
2.1 By creating an account, submitting your website brief, or approving your finished site you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service in full.
2.2 These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the Free Websites service and supersede all prior discussions, representations, and agreements whether verbal or written.
3. Registration and Account
3.1 To use the service you must register for an account at the Free Websites portal. You must provide accurate information including your name, business name, email address, and phone number.
3.2 You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must not share your login with any other person.
3.3 You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
4. Website Brief
4.1 Once registered, you must complete our website brief through the client portal. The brief asks for information about your business, services, target customers, areas served, branding, and content preferences.
4.2 You must complete the brief accurately and truthfully. The quality of your finished website is directly dependent on the quality of information you provide in the brief.
4.3 We will begin building your website once we have received a submitted brief. We aim to have your site ready for review within 5 working days of brief submission. This is a target, not a guarantee, and may vary depending on workload and the complexity of your brief.
5. Review and Approval
5.1 Once your website is built you will be notified by email. You can review your site via the client portal and request changes before approving.
5.2 The build includes reasonable revisions based on your brief. Substantial changes that represent a complete departure from your original brief may be treated as a new build at our discretion.
5.3 Once you approve your site you confirm it meets your requirements and you agree to the commencement of the monthly hosting fee and the initial commitment period set out in Section 7.
5.4 If you do not approve or reject your site within 30 days of it being made available for review we reserve the right to close your account without further notice. No fee will be charged in this circumstance.
6. Going Live
6.1 Once you have approved your site and set up your direct debit we will publish your website to your domain. We require access to your domain's DNS settings to point your domain to our hosting.
6.2 If you do not already have a domain we can advise on registration. Domain registration and renewal fees are your responsibility and are not covered by the monthly hosting fee.
6.3 We will take reasonable care during deployment but cannot guarantee zero downtime during DNS propagation. Standard DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours.
7. Initial Commitment and Ongoing Terms
7.1 The service requires an initial commitment of 3 months from the date your site goes live. This period exists because we invest significant time and resource building your site at no upfront cost.
7.2 Following the initial 3-month period the service continues on a monthly rolling basis.
7.3 During the initial 3-month period you may not cancel the service except where we are in material breach of these terms.
8. What We Will Do
8.1 We will:
- Design and build a professional website based on your brief at no upfront cost
- Host your website on fast, reliable infrastructure
- Keep your site secure and apply software and security updates
- Provide ongoing technical support by email
- Make reasonable content updates at your request within the scope of your plan
- Provide a client portal where you can manage your account and submit requests
8.2 We aim to respond to support requests within 2 working days. We do not provide phone support.
9. What You Must Provide
9.1 To allow us to build your website effectively you must:
- Complete the website brief accurately and in full
- Provide any images, logos, and brand assets you wish to use
- Provide access to your domain's DNS settings when required
- Respond to our communications within a reasonable timeframe
- Notify us promptly of any changes to your business, services, or contact details
9.2 Delays in providing required information or approvals may extend the time taken to build or update your website.
10. Your Content and Responsibilities
10.1 You warrant that all content you provide for use on your website — including text, images, logos, and other materials — is accurate, truthful, and that you own or have the right to use it.
10.2 You are solely responsible for ensuring your website content complies with all applicable laws and regulations including consumer protection, advertising standards, and any sector-specific rules applicable to your industry.
10.3 You must not use the service to host content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or that infringes the rights of any third party.
10.4 You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising from any content you provided to us or published on your website that is inaccurate, unlawful, or in breach of any third-party rights.
11. Domain Names
11.1 Your domain name belongs to you. We do not register or hold domain names on your behalf unless explicitly agreed in writing.
11.2 You are responsible for renewing your domain registration. If your domain expires your website will go offline. We are not liable for any downtime or loss arising from domain expiry.
11.3 On termination of the service we will assist you in transferring your website files if requested. DNS management is your responsibility.
12. Intellectual Property
12.1 Content and materials you provide to us — including your logo, photos, and business information — remain your intellectual property at all times.
12.2 The website design, code, and structure we create remain our intellectual property during the term of the service. On cancellation after the initial 3-month period you may request a copy of your website files.
12.3 We reserve the right to display your website in our portfolio and marketing materials as an example of our work. We will not use your business name in advertising without your permission.
13. No Guarantee of Results
13.1 We do not guarantee any specific level of enquiries, leads, traffic, or search engine rankings as a result of your website.
13.2 Website performance depends on many factors outside our control including your market, your location, competition, and search engine algorithms. We will build the best website we can within the brief — outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
14. Cancellation After Initial Period
14.1 After the initial 3-month period you may cancel by giving 30 days written notice by email to laurence@leadible.co.uk. Notice must come from your registered email address.
14.2 No refund will be issued for fees already paid or for the current billing period at the time of cancellation.
14.3 On cancellation your website will remain live until the end of your final billing period, after which it will be taken offline.
15. Non-Payment and Suspension
15.1 If your direct debit payment fails we will notify you in writing. If payment is not resolved within 14 days of that notification we reserve the right to suspend your website.
15.2 Monthly fees are due up to and including the date of cancellation or termination. We do not charge interest on overdue amounts.
16. Our Right to Terminate
16.1 We may suspend or terminate the service immediately and without notice if:
- You fail to pay monthly fees after reasonable notice
- You breach these terms in a way that cannot be remedied
- You use the service for any unlawful purpose
- You behave in a threatening, abusive, or harassing manner toward us
- You provided materially false information during registration
16.2 On termination for your breach fees are due up to the date of termination only. No refund will be issued for the current billing period.
16.3 We reserve the right to discontinue the Free Websites service entirely at any future point. In such circumstances we will provide 30 days written notice and a copy of your website files on request.
17. Pricing Changes
17.1 We reserve the right to change our monthly hosting fees by giving you 30 days written notice by email.
17.2 If you do not wish to accept a price change you may cancel the service in accordance with Section 14 within the 30-day notice period.
18. Limitation of Liability
18.1 Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or in connection with these terms or the services provided shall not exceed the total monthly hosting fees paid by you in the 3 months prior to the date the claim arises.
18.2 We are not liable for:
- The performance of your website including its ranking, traffic, or ability to generate leads
- Any downtime caused by third-party hosting or infrastructure failures
- Domain expiry or DNS issues caused by actions or inactions on your part
- Any loss of business, revenue, profit, data, or goodwill howsoever caused
- Failures of third-party services including but not limited to Vercel, Supabase, and GoCardless
- Any claim arising from content or information you provided to us
18.3 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.
19. General
19.1 Waiver — Our failure to enforce any provision of these terms on any occasion shall not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that provision on any subsequent occasion.
19.2 Severability — If any provision of these terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
19.3 No partnership — Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between the parties.
20. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. In the event of any dispute please contact us first at laurence@leadible.co.uk — we will always try to resolve matters informally before either party considers formal proceedings.
